Ocean / Bubblegum
I love getting orders from this family. They have fun requests. This request: bubble gum icing, seahorse and dolphin.
I wanted to add in another bubble gum element, so when they cut into the cake, gumballs will come pouring out from the center!
I love everything ocean, so this cake was extra exciting to make.
PJ Mask
I'll be honest, I have only heard of PJ Masks once in my life. My nephew likes it and that was the theme of his birthday party last year. I had to do a little research to know what the show was all about. I had such a good time making this cake. The marbled fondant for the night sky was my favorite part.
I'm Melting
I've made these cupcakes for a few years in a row to celebrate Halloween. They are so tasty and fun. A super chocolaty cupcake, marshmallow frosting that is to die for, and a fun, green, white chocolate ganache. The recipes and idea comes from the Six Sisters, who I absolutely love and follow just about everything they do. Their savory and sweet recipes never fail to satisfy my family.

Giant Cupcake
I've been itching to make a giant cupcake cake for years! This was so much fun. Who isn't delighted by a sprinkled-topped, massive cupcake?
I had tried baking one before with one of my go-to favorite recipes, but it was an epic failure, so I tried a "pound cake" version this time. It was fabulous.
Dense Cake for Giant Cupcake
1 boxed cake mix
4 eggs
1 1/4 cup milk
1 sm box of instant pudding
large dollop of greek yogurt or sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix together. Bake at 325 degrees for about an hour, watching closely.
The outside is melted chocolate. I was so intimidated to do it that way, absolutely sure it would just end up a mess, but miraculously, it was terrific.

Horse Cake
I LOVE this animal cake trend: Unicorns, horses, etc. I could make them everyday and still get excited about how fun they come together. My daughter was extra excited to see the results of this cake because she loves horses and it was for her cute little friends 3rd birthday!
Donut Cake
I can smell this cake now! Both the smash cake and the huge sheet cake were strawberry. It smelt delightful. These were for a one year old birthday party. Donut themed. How cute is that theme?
Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
I love Sally's Baking Addiction. She has adorable ideas and delightful recipes. She also does monthly challenges. I always assumed the challenges were for herself, but I took the time to actually read her post a few months ago and they challenges are for her blog followers. It's a fun excuse to bake fun treats. This Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake was the challenge for Augusts. It was fun to make, but was exactly like a cookie... I'm not sure that's my favorite combo, but it may be someone else's favorite.

Graduation - Class of 2018
Seeing all these posts about graduation are making me feel nostalgic. I can't believe I've been out of high school for so long - it seems like a long time ago, and doesn't at the same time.
This is a chocolate cake with lavender rosettes to celebrate a special high school graduate.
Succulent Cake
This was an Arizona inspired cake. When I got asked to do this one I thought about all the memories I have of Arizona and most all of them went back to the unique plants that were there.
(Also... speaking of plants in Arizona, did you know that if a cactus doesn't have visible spikes, it can still hurt really bad if you hug it? I did when I was in elementary school because I wanted a picture hugging a cactus and for hours after I was SOOOOO itchy. There are fine little hair prickles that stick to your skin. I think next time I'd prefer to get stabbed by a spike rather than have those little tiny prickles all over my arms.)

Hollywood
This was such a fun cake for a Movie themed party. It was a combination party with two sisters. One loves strawberry and one loves chocolate, so it was a half-and-half cake.
It's a Girl!
There was a baby shower at my house recently. These were a few of the treats from the party.

Salted Caramel Pretzel Cupcakes
This was a marvelous combo. I am glad these didn't stick around my house, or I would have eaten all of them!
French Toast Wedding Cake
I have a friend who is a hoot! She recently got married and requested a .... French toast cake. It was a unique request, but very fun!
Grandma's 90th
My sweet grandma turned 90 years old this year!
Her favorite color has always been purple, so I did a purple / chocolate sheet cake.
Nutella
I got to travel to Europe a few years ago. While in Italy I realized there were people that had a bigger love for Nutella than me. They had jars of nutella that had to have weighed 40 pounds! Literally!! I also LOVE Ferrero Rocher - so, perfect combo.

Unicorn
I now have a new obsession --- Rainbow frosting. Oh my heavens. It's so much fun to use. I wanted to squeal every rosette I did. I think unicorns are a fun, new trend.

"Mink"
My 2 year old is obsessed with the color pink. She loves anything that's pink and pronounces it "mink", though she can pronounce other words that start with "p". It's kinda adorable. For her birthday I had a million ideas for a cake that I wanted to do, but our family just happened to be sick (we just keep passing every sickness to each other. It's been a rough winter). I had just recovering from the last cold / cough and still wasn't' feeling great, so I went with a simple cake. My husband suggested a pink theme, because it's her favorite. It was a good choice. She was thrilled to walk into the kitchen and see pink galore.
