Princess Poppy
I'll admit, Trolls was a pretty cute movie. I loved the music and the bright colors. This was a fun cake to do. I'm still learning the art of the cupcake cake, but I think it went okay for my first time.
Pokemon
How do you get Pikachu on the bus? You Pokemon!
Why don't you let Pokemon in the bathroom? He will Pikachu!
That's the extent of my Pokemon knowledge.
I didn't even know Pokemon was a thing again, but it is, and I have a nephew who is obsessed. If you ever meet him, he might ask you your favorite Pokemon and he KNOWS if you make a name up, because he knows all their names.
I don't want to TACO bout it
The poor ladies of book club. They have to listen to me tell strange things about myself (it just slips out). On a few occasions I've mentioned my Taco costume. I decided to bring it to book club one week and had to bring a cake to sweeten the awkwardness up.
Hawaii
Our friends moved to Hawaii, so to celebrate their last day Daniel suggested Hawaiian cupcakes. Holy moly- I didn't know I had a secret love for coconut and pineapple, but I DO!!!
Total Eclipse of the Heart
Did anyone else have that song stuck in their head the entire buildup to the great Eclipse?
We had family come into town and they suggested I make a cake, so of course it had to be an eclipse.
Tractor
This was for a 90th birthday. Isn't that a hoot? He owned a backhoe company if I remember correctly.
Shark
I have a slight obsession with sharks (I normally don't bring that up in everyday conversations because people think it's odd for a grown woman to love sharks so much!) However, I was slightly heartbroken that this cake fell on a crazy week. There were so many ideas that I wanted to try, but had to go with this idea that I saw on Pinterest awhile back and fell in love with. Still like how it turned out, but I hope I can do a fun, more intense shark cake later on.
ABC Success
I was so lucky and got to work with a nephew all summer. He needed some extra help with reading, so we would get together once a week throughout the summer and work on the alphabet and reading. We decided that at the end of the summer when he learned all this letters and sounds we would make ABC cookies. He came back the next week with a proposition. An alphabet cake! He was so excited about it and would talk about it every week when he came over. He would draw sketches each time. Well, he did it. He learned his letters and sounds. Once we started he decided he wanted to write something out... Here is the creations!!!
Puppy
When you have a nephew who looks at pictures of puppies on Google you've got to make a puppy cake :)
Books
I'm grateful for the practice I get with cakes... I LOVE to do cakes. It relaxes me, makes me happy, helps my creative juices start to flow... but sometimes it doesn't work out how I envisions. This was one of them. To make the cake even worse, minutes before my friend came to pick it up Adelyn climbed onto the chair (which I didn't know she could do), pulled the cake box, opened it and stuck her hand it in.

Minnie Mouse
I have a niece who is obsessed with Minnie Mouse (this cake wasn't for her, but I sure thought of her a lot as I made it). I think tootles was one of her first words. She walked around the house saying "oh Tootles" ( I think that's from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but I could be wrong). Here is to pink and rosettes and all that I love that's girly!
Captain America
He is my favorite super hero. When I was single my nephew used to ask me if Captain America was my boyfriend :)
Salted Caramel
SALTED CARAMEL!!! Need I say more?
I had been dying to make this cake - not to look pretty, but to be yummy! I am thankful for the friends who came to share this cake with me since we couldn't manage to eat it on our own.
But just look at those swirls of caramel and the specks of delicious salt... Now I want another piece.
My MOM!!
Out of every cake I've made I so badly wanted this one to be flawless.... The harder I try the worse it gets :)
The colors wouldn't cooperate with me, but I hope my mom loved this Almond - Lemon cake for her birthday!!!
Dr. Who
My husband has been trying to get me to watch Dr. Who. I have fallen asleep within the first couple minutes each time we have tried, not saying I won't love it, but I just struggle staying awake while we watch TV, BUT I do know that that Tardis represents Dr. Who.

Purple!
I was asked to do a purple cake. That was the only request. I had so much fun with this. I did an ombre purple center (photo doesn't do the colors justice again) and got to use my fun new airbrush toy!!!
Rosettes
Rosettes are one of my all time favorite things to do. These look gray in the picture, but they are really a gorgeous purple.
The Office!!!
I find The Office hilarious. I was super excited when I was asked to make a funny Office cake. I just used my favorite quotes likes : "Boom. Roaster." and "Did I Stutter?" and tried to put humor into the cake.
I also realize I need to learn to take good photos of the cakes...

Bengal Cake
A family friend graduated from ISU and I did a Bengal Cake for him. I LOVED how the inside turned out - and the outside was fun too.
Wedding Cake
My sweet sister-in-law got married to a great guy and I was lucky enough to make the cake and help with the dessert sheet cakes. It was lots of fun! My niece flew in from California and helped with all the sheet cakes and did a great job.
Cookies and Cream
I wanted to try out a new chocolate cake recipe and my friend had done well on a Pharmacy test, so I thought I'd make her a mini Oreo cake for her.

Peanut Butter
I have a few passions, two of which are peanut butter and chocolate!!!
I made these cupcakes for a Young Men's event and had extra batter and extra frosting = making a small birthday cake (I hadn't planned to make a birthday cake for myself, but heck, why not?)
Easter Drip
I've been dying to try a drip cake.
I learned so much from this one, and the next one will go even better. I did matching colors with the sprinkles on top (They don't show up well in the photo).
I Love Easter (and I Love making cakes).

Rubber Ducky
My baby is ONE!!!!
This year has been bliss with my little monkey! I didn't think I could find a job more fantastic than a first grade teacher, but I did! Being this girls Mom is the best job around!
This Rubber Duck cake was a blast to make and I was delighted that my little bug enjoyed eating it.
Aqua Cupcake
Once again, my neighbors were targeted by my hankering to bake. Sunday afternoon hit and I wanted to try a new cake recipe and cover it buttercream! I adore the color of these delightful little cupcakes.
Cherry Blossom
Cherry Blossoms remind me of Disney's Mulan. One of the end scenes where Mulan and her dad are under the Cherry Blossom tree I can't help but be distracted by the beautiful pink blossoms popping up around them. There is nothing prettier to me than trees blooming with bright, fragrant flowers.
I had seen a similar cake in a book and had to try for myself. I give you Spring:
Chocolate
My poor neighbors!
I love to bake cakes, but I don't love being stuck with a cake to eat on my own, so I pawn them off on my neighbors when I can. I had just gotten 6-inch cake pans and NEEDED to try them out. This divine chocolate cake recipe was perfect for a little cake!
Wilton Cake Decorating Class
Taking a Wilton Cake Decorating class has been on my bucket list for years. It was always one thing or another to keep me from it: first it was college, then it was work, then it was getting married, then it was having a baby... the list goes on. I woke up one morning deciding that I wasn't going to put it off anymore. I was going to take the class. So I signed up! It was bliss. Two hours a week of buttercream dream each week. This cake was one I did in there. It reminds me of Mary Engelbreit, which reminds me of my mom, so I made the cake for her.
Tea Party
My nieces and I like tea parties. I wanted to make a mini cake on a day there were coming over, so I experimented with a new almond cake recipe. It was a hit - I wouldn't use that frosting again, the consistency was not good for decorating, but the girls loved the fancy treat for a quaint summer tea party.
Sprinkles!
I love sprinkles!!! They make things happy. They are colorful, bright, fun and say PARTY! Throw some on a cake and I'm happy.
